My Prince You are One Year Old.

 Yes today my prince turns one. Exactly a year ago at 4.27 PM he came into this world, and a few minutes later they put him on my chest saying that it is a boy. He was wide awake just opposite of his sister who remained sleepy after making few cries. He started playing immediately by trying to spit the air bubbles as soon he was handed over to his dad, while doctor was working on me to finish stitches. It was one of the greatest moments in my life when I saw him for the first time.

Now he is handsome 9 toothed guy who knows how to make everybody happy with his vivacious smile. Even her sister’s teachers always inquire about him.  I usually take both of them while dropping his sister off at her mother’s day out center. They always ask him when you are going to join us. His answer will be wide open smile, which indicates that hey, I am just one year old; I will be coming here later not now.

He loves to play with her sister, his sister too loves him, but in a split of second, she would at times push and roll him over on the carpet.  Then he will start crying and look for his mom for comfort. Now he can hold and walk. He also loves to watch NBC news with great seriousness. On waking up in the morning if nobody is there in the room, he will crawl  to the end of the crib and hoist himself up by holding the rails and look for mom or his sister.

One thing he absolutely hates is sitting in the rear facing car seat, and not seeing the world. Usually on our trips he would usually sleep to wherever we are going, but on the return trip, he will cry continuously until his mom pick him up from the car seat.  He is still skinny, so he needs to put a few more pounds before he can sit like everybody else in the forward facing seat. If he doesn’t like the taste of a dish, there is no way you can feed him, he will close his mouth and turn his head the other direction. If he likes something and if there is any delaying in feeding him, he will try to grab the spoon from your hand. He loves yogurt, banana, sweet pudding and ice cream. He hates steamed baby food that I would make especially for him. In the night he loves to wake up a few times and needed to be comforted. I think I have forgotten what it means to get 8 hours of continuous sleep in the last 3 years, before him it was his sister who would wake me up, now he holding the baton.

In spite of my lack of sleep, and his crying, he makes my life complete, as he made me mom again, and his world revolves around his mama, papa and sister. He has also joined the taste tester group. He too approves and disapproves his mama’s culinary adventures.

Today on his birthday we are celebrating with a small party and have a wonderful cake for him to cut. His sister has been practicing the happy birthday song to sing. Hope she will sing and he will cut the cake.

I am already looking forward to his school and college. Yes I know he is only 1 year old, and it takes a while to reach there. But everybody saying kids grows up in front you very fast.

As his mother I pray that God will help to achieve every dream he has, and also to help him to become a wonderful person.
